Ingredients
- 5 c. sugar
- 1 c. white Karo syrup
- 1 c. water
- whites of 3 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. chopped nuts
Method
- Cook sugar, syrup and water to soft ball stage; remove from heat.
- Take out 1 cup sugar mixture and stir into stiffly beaten egg whites; set aside.
- Return remaining syrup mixture to heat and cook to hard ball stage; pour slowly into egg mixture, beating continuously.
- Add vanilla and nuts; beat until it starts to harden.
- Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan to cool.
- Cut into squares while still warm.
