Ingredients

  • 1 14 lbs ground round
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 12 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 (7 1/2 ounce) can refrigerated biscuits, Buttermilk
  • 14 cup diced green chilies or 14 cup green pepper
  • 1 12 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 12 cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • salt & pepper

Method

  • Brown ground beef, onions, garlic & peppers; drain.
  • Stir in tomato sauce, chili powder, salt & pepper.
  • Simmer while preparing dough.
  • Separate biscuits and pull apart into 2 layers.
  • Press 10 biscuits into bottom of 8" or 9" square pan.
  • Combine 1/2 cup of cheese, sour cream & egg and mix well.
  • Stir in ground beef and spoon over biscuits.
  • Place remaining biscuits on top and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  • Bake @ 250F for 25 to 30 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
