Ingredients
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. warm water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. Crisco oil
- 1 egg
- 3 1/2 c. flour (approximately)
Method
- In a mixing bowl, soak yeast in water for 5 minutes.
- Add salt, sugar, oil, egg and 2 cups flour.
- Beat 2 minutes.
- Add 1 1/2 cups flour; mix in with wooden spoon.
- Place dough on a floured pastry cloth.
- Knead until dough is elastic, approximately 8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl.
- Cover; let raise in warm spot until doubled, approximately 1 1/2 hours.
- Shape into rolls and put into 2 greased (9 or 10-inch) round pans.
- Raise 1 1/2 hours.
- Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Yields 14 to 16 rolls.
