Ingredients

  • unbaked 2-crust pie shell
  • 5 or 6 pared, sliced apples
  • 6 oz. can frozen apple juice
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. water
  • cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. butter

Method

  • Fill pie shell with sliced apples.
  • Heat apple juice to boiling.
  • Dissolve cornstarch in water and stir into hot juice. Cook until thickened.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon over apples.
  • Dot with butter.
  • Pour juice over all and cover with upper crust.
  • Prick crust.
  • Bake at 450° for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to 350° and bake until done, 35 to 45 minutes.
