Ingredients
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 oz. semi-sweet chocolate, melted
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 c. ice water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Cream sugar and butter.
- Add eggs and beat at high speed for 5 minutes.
- Add chocolate.
- Sift flour, soda and salt.
- Add to creamed mixture, alternating and ending with ice water.
- Mix in vanilla.
- Pour into 2 greased and floured 9-inch pans.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350°.
- Top with a fluffy white icing.
