Ingredients

  • 12 cup butter, softened
  • 1 12 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 34 cups flour
  • 12 teaspoon baking soda
  • 12 teaspoon baking powder
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 13 cup butter, softened
  • 1 12 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 -2 tablespoon milk
  • food coloring

Method

  • Cookies:.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cream together butter and sugar.
  • Add eggs and mix, then melted chocolate.
  • Blend sour cream and vanilla in a small bowl.
  • In another bowl, sift or thoroughly mix dry ingredients.
  • Alternate adding the sour cream blend and the dry ingredients to the mixture and mix until blended.
  • Drop by tablespoons on greased cookie sheets.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 10 minutes.
  • Frosting:.
  • In a medium bowl, mix powdered sugar and butter with electric mixer on low speed or with a spoon.
  • Stir in vanilla and 1 Tbsp milk.
  • Gradually beat in just enough remaining milk to make frosting smooth and spreadable.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring until desired color is reached.
