Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. milk
- 1/3 c. cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/3 c. flour
- 3 egg yolks, beaten
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 baked pie shell
Method
- Mix together the sugar and flour.
- Add the milk and cook in double boiler until thick, about 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add beaten egg yolks.
- Mix cocoa with enough boiling water to make a paste.
- Add paste to mixture in double boiler.
- Return to heat and cook until thick.
- Remove from heat.
- Add butter and vanilla. Cool and pour in baked pie shell.
- Top with meringue.
- Brown in 325° oven.
