Ingredients
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 1/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. sugar (optional)
- 1 Tbsp. bacon grease
Method
- Put 1
- tablespoon
- bacon grease in iron skillet and put in oven
- to
- heat.
- Turn
- oven on to 425°.
- (Heating pan first keeps the
- cornbread
- from
- sticking.)
- Mix
- all ingredients together: flour, cornmeal, salt, baking powder, egg, milk and sugar. Stir lightly and pour in greased pan in oven.
- Cook 20 to 25 minutes.
