Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. margarine
  • 2 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 c. molasses
  • 4 eggs, well beaten
  • 9 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 2 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 8 oz. shredded coconut
  • 1 lb. chopped walnuts
  • 1 lb. raisins
  • 2 c. milk

Method

  • Cream margarine and sugar.
  • Add molasses and eggs.
  • Sift dry ingredients.
  • Combine with coconut, raisins and nuts.
  • Add flour mixture alternately with milk to shortening mixture.
  • Drop by tablespoon on greased baking sheet.
  • Bake at 375° approximately 10 minutes.
  • Makes 200 cookies.
