Ingredients
- 3 1/2 to 3 3/4 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 1/2 c. warm milk, scalded, then cooled
- 1 egg
Method
- Mix 2 cups flour, sugar, shortening, salt and yeast in 2 1/2-quart bowl.
- Add water, milk and egg.
- Stir in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.
- Knead 5 minutes. Place in bowl, cover and let rise for 1 hour.
