- 1 c. ham, cut in small cubes
- 3 c. water
- 2 c. fresh broccoli, chopped
- 1 c. cauliflower, chopped
- 1 c. carrots, cut
- 1 c. celery, cut
- 1 1/2 to 2 c. potatoes, cut
- 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can Swanson chicken broth
- 3 Tbsp. onion soup mix
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 1/8 tsp. basil
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. flour
- 2 1/2 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Method
- Boil ham and water 3/4 to 1 hour on simmer.
- Add chicken broth and seasonings to ham and water along with chopped vegetables. Bring to a boil and then cook on low for about 45 minutes.
