Ingredients
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 4 c. milk
- 4 egg yolks, slightly beaten
- 4 Tbsp. margarine, softened
- 4 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. canned drained peaches, cut in small chunks
Method
- Blend sugar, cornstarch and salt in large saucepan.
- Combine milk and egg yolks.
- Gradually stir into sugar mixture.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Stir in peaches.
- Boil and stir 1 minute.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in butter and vanilla.
- Best when served warm.
