Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. milk
  • 4 egg yolks, slightly beaten
  • 4 Tbsp. margarine, softened
  • 4 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. canned drained peaches, cut in small chunks

Method

  • Blend sugar, cornstarch and salt in large saucepan.
  • Combine milk and egg yolks.
  • Gradually stir into sugar mixture.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Stir in peaches.
  • Boil and stir 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in butter and vanilla.
  • Best when served warm.
