Ingredients

  • 1 (7 ounce.) pkg. macaroni, uncooked
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 3 tbsp. flour
  • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 c. lowfat milk
  • 2 1/2 c. shredded American cheese
  • 2 c. diced cooked ham
  • 1 (10 ounce.) packed frzn asparagus
  • 1 (6 ounce.) mushrooms
  • 3 tbsp. dry bread crumbs

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • In large saucepan, heat butter; stir in flour, salt, parsley flakes, dry mustard, and pepper.
  • Blend in lowfat milk.
  • Cook, stirring constantly, till thickened and bubbly.
  • Add in cheese; stir till melted.
  • Add in cooked macaroni, ham, asparagus, and mushrooms; mix well.
  • Pour into buttered 2-qt casserole.
  • Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min or possibly till bubbly.
  • Yield 4 or possibly 6 servings.
