Ingredients

  • 1 small baguette
  • 100 ml dry white wine
  • 8 None thin slices smoked ham
  • 8 None thin slices Gruyere cheese
  • 2 None tomatoes, sliced
  • 250 g creme fraiche
  • 125 ml double cream or milk

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Grease 4 small baking dishes. Cut the baguette on the diagonal into 8 thin slices and place 2 slices in each dish. Sprinkle with the white wine then top each with a slice of ham, cheese and tomato.
  • To make the sauce, mix together the sour cream and cream or milk and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Pour around the bread slices and bake for 15-20 mins until bubbling and golden. Serve immediately.
