Ingredients
- 6 medium size turnips
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
Method
- Peel the turnips; cut 1/2-inch slices.
- Cover with cold water in a deep pot.
- Add salt; cook briskly for 30 minutes, or until tender.
- Drain the cooking water.
- Pour in the milk.
- Add the pepper; return to heat for 3 to 4 minutes, but do not allow to boil.
