Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 6 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 c. chicken broth
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. ground savory
  • 2 c. cooked chicken, cut in pieces
  • 1 c. cooked peas
  • 1/2 c. almonds, blanched and slivered

Method

  • Melt butter in a large saucepan; stir in flour.
  • Mix in liquids and seasonings.
  • Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened.
  • Add chicken, peas and almonds.
  • Continue cooking until heated through.
  • Serve hot in patty shells or over biscuits.
