Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 6 Tbsp. flour
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. chicken broth
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. ground savory
- 2 c. cooked chicken, cut in pieces
- 1 c. cooked peas
- 1/2 c. almonds, blanched and slivered
Method
- Melt butter in a large saucepan; stir in flour.
- Mix in liquids and seasonings.
- Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened.
- Add chicken, peas and almonds.
- Continue cooking until heated through.
- Serve hot in patty shells or over biscuits.
