Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1 1/2 c. margarine, softened
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla or lemon extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 c. sifted flour

Method

  • Combine cream cheese, margarine and sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add vanilla or lemon extract and salt.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Add flour and mix well. Spoon into greased 10-inch tube pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan.
