Ingredients
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. soft shortening
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. milk
- 3/4 c. orange juice
- 4 tsp. grated orange rind
- 3 c. flour
- 3/4 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. frozen cranberries, halved
- 1 tsp. salt
Method
- Heat oven to 350°.
- Grease a loaf pan, 9 x 5 x 3-inch.
- Mix sugar, shortening and egg thoroughly.
- Stir in milk.
- Blend in dry ingredients; stir in.
- Blend in cranberry halves and nuts.
- Pour into pan.
- Bake 60 to 70 minutes.
- (Crack in top of the loaf is characteristic.)
- Cool thoroughly before slicing with a very sharp serrated knife.
