Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 1 c. chicken broth
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 5 c. chilled milk
  • 1 lb. crab meat
  • salt to taste
  • about 2 c. diced potatoes
  • about 2 c. asparagus

Method

  • Cook potatoes and asparagus; set aside.
  • Melt margarine in pan and stir in flour, mixing until smooth.
  • Remove from heat and gradually add chicken broth.
  • Add pepper and return to heat, stirring until blended and thickened.
  • Slowly, add milk.
  • Stir in crab, potatoes and asparagus.
  • Heat thoroughly.
  • Do not boil!
