Ingredients

  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. shortening (do not use butter!)
  • 2 c. rolled oats
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 pkg. semi-sweet chocolates

Method

  • Sift together and set aside flour, soda, salt and baking powder.
  • Blend together shortening and sugars.
  • Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
  • Add flour mixture and mix well. Add rolled oats, vanilla and chocolate.
  • Dough is crumbly.
  • Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie pan and bake 15 minutes at 350° or until brown.
  • Makes 11 dozen.
