Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 pieces cubed steak
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 4 Tbsp. oil

Method

  • Roll steak in flour and salt and pepper mixture thoroughly. Place steak in pan with hot oil; brown both sides.
  • Simmer for 20 minutes with lid on.
  • Add all remaining flour to pan.
  • Scrape dish off in pan.
  • Add 1 1/2 cups water.
  • Simmer an additional length of time (10 minutes).
  • Gravy will thicken and lumps will come out as stirred.
