Ingredients
- 3 pkg. yeast
- 3/4 c. water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. oil
- 6 tsp. salt
- 3 c. hot milk (or 2 c. water and 1 c. milk)
- 3/4 c. cold water
- 6 eggs
Method
- Heat 2 c. water and 1 c. milk.
- Soften yeast in warm water; let set.
- Combine sugar, oil and salt in large bowl; add hot milk; then add cold water.
- Add eggs that have been whipped a little. Add yeast and mix.
- Add between 7 and 9 c. flour, until a stiff batter.
- Spread a large quantity of flour and pour out batter. Knead dough for about 7 minutes. Put into a greased bowl and let rise until doubled.
- Punch down and turn over.
- Let rise 30 minutes.
- Turn out and shape into rolls or loaves and let rise double.
- Bake at 375° until golden brown.
- Brush with butter.
