Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • cinnamon and nutmeg
  • chopped nutmeats (almonds, walnuts or pecans)

Method

  • Cream together 1/2 cup of butter and 1 cup of sugar.
  • Add milk and unbeaten eggs.
  • Mix well.
  • Sift together the flour and baking powder.
  • Blend into the creamed mixture, adding a dash of nutmeg. Pour batter into a well-greased loaf cake pan.
  • Sprinkle with nutmeg, cinnamon, nuts and sugar.
  • Dot well with butter.
  • Bake in preheated 350° oven for 20 minutes.
  • Makes 1 loaf.
