Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. milk
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- cinnamon and nutmeg
- chopped nutmeats (almonds, walnuts or pecans)
Method
- Cream together 1/2 cup of butter and 1 cup of sugar.
- Add milk and unbeaten eggs.
- Mix well.
- Sift together the flour and baking powder.
- Blend into the creamed mixture, adding a dash of nutmeg. Pour batter into a well-greased loaf cake pan.
- Sprinkle with nutmeg, cinnamon, nuts and sugar.
- Dot well with butter.
- Bake in preheated 350° oven for 20 minutes.
- Makes 1 loaf.
