- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 15 oz. can tomato sauce
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- dash of cumin (optional)
- 1 lb. (10) hot dogs, heated
- 10 hot dog buns, toasted
- chopped onion (optional)
Method
- Brown beef slowly, but thoroughly, breaking it up with a fork until crumbly.
- Drain off fat.
- Return to pan and stir in water, onion, garlic, tomato sauce and seasonings.
- Simmer until thick, about 20 minutes.
- Serve over heated hot dogs in toasted split hot dog buns.
- Garnish with chopped onion, if desired.
