Ingredients
- 1/2 c. melted butter
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. soda
- 4 c. rolled oats
- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. shredded coconut
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Mix brown sugar and shortening; add well beaten eggs and vanilla. Mix soda, rolled oats, flour and coconut together.
- Add to first mixture. Shape into 2 long 3-inch rolls in wax paper. Refrigerate until firm. Slice in 1/4 inch thick slices. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
