Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 5 Tbsp. dark corn syrup
  • 1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Into a heavy 3-quart saucepan, turn the sugar, milk, butter, corn syrup and cocoa.
  • Mix and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  • Cook, without stirring, about 15 minutes at a full but low and gentle boil.
  • Add vanilla and cool to lukewarm (110°). Beat until fudge begins to thicken and loses its gloss. Quickly pour into a buttered 8-inch square dish.
  • Makes 2 pounds. Inexpensive!
