Ingredients
- 1 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Hershey's cocoa
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. baking powder
Method
- Heat oven to 350°.
- Generously grease and flour 12-inch Bundt pan.
- In large mixer bowl, blend flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Beat on low speed 1 minute, scraping bowl constantly.
- Beat on high speed 3 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
- Pour into prepared pan.
- Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool 10 minutes.
- Remove from pan to wire rack.
- Cool completely.
- Drizzle with chocolate glaze.
- Makes 12 to 16 servings.
