Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Hershey's cocoa
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. baking powder

Method

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Generously grease and flour 12-inch Bundt pan.
  • In large mixer bowl, blend flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  • Add remaining ingredients.
  • Beat on low speed 1 minute, scraping bowl constantly.
  • Beat on high speed 3 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
  • Pour into prepared pan.
  • Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Cool 10 minutes.
  • Remove from pan to wire rack.
  • Cool completely.
  • Drizzle with chocolate glaze.
  • Makes 12 to 16 servings.
