Ingredients
- 1 c. lard
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Method
- Beat lard and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla and salt.
- Add alternately flour and beaten eggs.
- Dough should be firm but not sticky.
- Refrigerate 1 hour.
- Roll out 1/4 inch thick and cook on greased cookie sheets at 375° until brown on edges or make into rolls and refrigerate overnight.
- Slice 1/4 inch thick and bake as usual.
- Let cool in pan for 3 minutes before removing.
