Ingredients

  • 1 c. lard
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Method

  • Beat lard and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add vanilla and salt.
  • Add alternately flour and beaten eggs.
  • Dough should be firm but not sticky.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour.
  • Roll out 1/4 inch thick and cook on greased cookie sheets at 375° until brown on edges or make into rolls and refrigerate overnight.
  • Slice 1/4 inch thick and bake as usual.
  • Let cool in pan for 3 minutes before removing.
