Ingredients

  • 12 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 12 cup vegetable shortening
  • 34 cup sugar
  • 34 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 14 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees; lightly grease cookie sheets.
  • Cream butter, shortening, sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  • Add eggs, one at a time; beat well after each egg.
  • Combine dry ingredients; stir into butter mixture.
  • Carefully fold in chocolate chips.
  • Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
  • Bake 8-10 minutes.
  • Allow to cool on cookie sheets 10 minutes before removing to rack.
