Ingredients

  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. softened margarine
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 6 oz. chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

Method

  • Combine flour, baking powder, 1 cup sugar and 3 teaspoons cinnamon.
  • Add margarine, shortening and egg yolk.
  • Mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Roll into 1-inch balls.
  • Roll in 2/3 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon, combined.
  • Place on greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Yield: 5 dozen.
