Ingredients
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. shortening
- 2/3 c. milk
- brown sugar
- butter, softened
- cinnamon
Method
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
- Cut shortening into flour mixture until it looks like rice grains.
- Add milk to flour mixture gradually.
- Stir with fork until it forms soft dough; knead.
- Roll to 1/4-inch.
- Spread with melted butter. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll into pinwheels; cut into 12 biscuits.
- Bake at 425° for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Yields 1 dozen biscuits.
