Ingredients

  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1 c. sugar (white)
  • 1 egg, separated
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 4 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 c. nuts

Method

  • Cream butter and sugar; add yolk.
  • Add flour, sifted with cinnamon.
  • Mix well.
  • Put in jelly roll pan, 10 x 15-inch.
  • Pour unbeaten egg white over surface and spread with hand.
  • This gives shiny look.
  • Drain excess.
  • Sprinkle nuts on top.
  • Press into dough.
  • Bake at 325° for 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Cut into bars while hot, 2 1/2 x 3/4-inch.
  • These freeze well.
