Ingredients

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Wesson Oil
  • 1 34 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups pared chopped apples
  • 12 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 12 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, sofened
  • 5 tablespoons water

Method

  • Batter:.
  • In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
  • ; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat together oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla about 3 minutes.
  • Add dry ingredients and beat well after each addition.
  • Stir in apples and walnuts.
  • Pour batter into greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.
  • Bake in 350 degree oven 40 minutes or until cake tests done.
  • Cool in pan on a wire rack.
  • Spread with the Vanilla Glaze.

  • In a medium bowl, combine confectioners sugar, butter and water.
  • Beat until smooth.
