- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1 qt. water
- 16 oz. tomatoes
- 1 1/2 tsp. vinegar
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 2 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cayenne
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 lb. hot, cooked spaghetti
- 1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans, heated
- 12 oz. oyster crackers
Method
- Combine the beef, onions and water in a large saucepan. Simmer the beef brown.
- Add the tomatoes and their juice, along with the vinegar, Worcestershire, chili powder, cumin, allspice, salt, cayenne, cinnamon, garlic powder and bay leaves.
- Cover and simmer for 3 hours.
- The fat will rise to the top; spoon the fat off.
