Ingredients
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 stick oleo
- 3 1/2 Tbsp. Nestle Quik cocoa
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- pinch of salt
Method
- Mix flour, sugar and salt.
- Set aside.
- Boil together oleo, cocoa, water and shortening in a saucepan.
- Pour cocoa mixture over dry ingredients and beat well.
- Add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla.
- Thoroughly mix.
- Grease and flour an 11 x 16-inch cookie sheet.
- Bake 20 minutes at 400°.
