Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 heaping Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 eggs (separate for meringue)
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1/3 c. cocoa
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- pinch of salt
- 1 baked pie shell
Method
- Heat 1 cup milk and 1 tablespoon butter.
- Mix sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, salt, egg yolks and 1/2 cup milk.
- Gradually add heated milk and butter to mixture and cook until thick. Cool. Add the vanilla.
- Pour into cooked pie shell. Cover with meringue and brown.
