Ingredients

  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2/3 c. cocoa
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. finely chopped peanuts

Method

  • Cream margarine.
  • Gradually add sugar, beating at low speed of an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  • Stir in eggs and vanilla.
  • Combine flour, cocoa, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture, beating well.
  • Stir in peanuts.
  • Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake at 350° for 12 to 14 minutes.
  • Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
  • Yields 5 1/2 dozen.
