Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. white corn syrup
  • dash of salt
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Place cocoa and milk over low heat and stir until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.
  • Stir in sugar, corn syrup and salt.
  • Cook until a soft ball is formed when portion is dropped in cold water.
  • Remove from heat and add butter.
  • Cool without stirring until lukewarm and add vanilla.
  • Beat until thick and glossy, stir in pecans and spread in a buttered dish.
