Ingredients

  • 24 oz semi-sweet baking chocolate
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 4 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp chile pepper
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 4 tsp vanilla

Method

  • 1. Melt 20 oz chocolate according to package directions.
  • 2. Coarsely chop remaining 4 oz chocolate.
  • 3. Mix flour, cinnamon, chile pepper, baking powder and salt in small bowl.
  • 4. Beat butter and sugars in large bowl on medium speed until light & fluffy.
  • 5. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
  • 6. Add melted chocolate, beat until well blended.
  • 7. Gradually beat in flour mixture on low speed until well mixed.
  • 8. Stir in chopped chocolate.
  • 9. Drop by generous rounded tablespoons 1.5" apart on parchment paper lined baking sheets.
  • 10. Bake in preheated 375 F oven about 10 mins. Transfer to wire rack, cool.
