Ingredients
- 1½ cups (185 g/6 oz) plain flour
- ¾ cup (90 g/3 oz) cocoa powder
- 1½ cups (345 g/11 oz) firmly packed soft brown sugar
- 180 g (6 oz) butter
- 150 g (5 oz) dark chocolate, chopped
- 3 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup (175 g/6 oz) dark chocolate bits
- ½ cup (90 g/3 oz) white chocolate bits
Method
1. Preheat the oven to moderate 180°C (350°F/ Gas 4). Grease 2 baking trays and line with baking paper. Sift the flour and cocoa into a bowl. Add the sugar.
2. Combine the butter and dark chocolate in a pan. Stir over low heat until melted, then add to the flour mixture with the eggs and stir until combined. Stir in all the chocolate bits.
3. Roll 2 level tablespoons of the mixture into balls. Place on the trays, allowing room for spreading. Flatten slightly, then bake for 12 minutes. Leave for 5 minutes, then cool on a wire rack.
