Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. Crisco
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 3 c. flour
- 1 1/2 heaping Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 small pkg. chocolate chips
- 1 c. nuts, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Cream together sugar and Crisco.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each.
- Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
- Sift together all dry ingredients.
- Add by 1/2 cup to batter, alternating with buttermilk.
- Stir in chips, nuts and vanilla.
- Pour in greased and floured tube or Bundt pan.
- Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 12 minutes.
