- 1/2 c. butter (unsalted)
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. semi-sweet chocolate bits
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Method
- Let butter stand at room temperature until softened.
- In mixing bowl, cream the butter, shortening, brown sugar and granulated sugar.
- Add the eggs and vanilla; beat well.
- In a bowl, stir together the flour, soda and salt.
- Add to creamed mixture and stir until well blended.
- Stir in chocolate and nuts. Drop from a teaspoon 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Yields 6 dozen.
