Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/8 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 12 oz. chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Method

  • In a small pan melt butter.
  • Add both sugars.
  • Mix the flour, soda and salt in a mixing bowl. In a small bowl, beat the egg lightly with a fork, then add the egg and vanilla to the butter mixture.
  • Now add the butter mixture to the flour mixture.
  • Stir. Add chocolate chips and nuts (optional).
  • Stir until all mixed. Put in refrigerator for an hour.
  • Set oven to 375°.
  • Bake the cookies for 12 minutes.
  • Don't overcook.
  • Cool.
