Ingredients
- 1 pkg. caramels (about 40)
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 German chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 c. melted oleo
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips or less
Method
- Melt caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in a saucepan over low heat.
- Mix together cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, oleo and pecans.
- Press half of this mixture into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.
- Bake at 350° for 6 minutes.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over crust.
- Spread caramel mixture over chips.
- Crumble remaining cake mixture over caramel layer.
- Bake 15 more minutes.
