- 1 lb. steak
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 c. bean sprouts
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 4 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 2 green peppers
- 2 tomatoes
- 2 Tbsp. water
Method
- Cut steak into 1-inch pieces, as thin as possible.
- Heat shortening, garlic, salt and pepper in skillet and in it cook beef until brown on both sides.
- Add soy sauce and sugar.
- Cover and cook on high heat 5 minutes.
- Add bean sprouts, tomato and green pepper.
- Cover and cook 3 minutes.
- Stir in cornstarch dissolved in water.
- Cook until sauce is thickened.
- Sprinkle with green onions.
- Serve with rice.
