Ingredients

  • 2 lb Ground Chuck
  • 1 large Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 large Sweet Onion
  • 2 can 15.5 oz Dark Red Kidney Beans
  • 2 can 10 oz Original Rotel Diced Tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 can 8oz tomato sauce
  • 1 can 8 oz water (use the tomato sauce can)
  • 4 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tbsp Ground Cumin
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon (shhhh... secret ingredient!)
  • 1 Salt, to taste

Method

  • In medium stock pot, brown ground beef.
  • Add chopped peppers and onions to beef and continue to brown until all liquid is evaporated.
  • Add kidney beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and water.
  • I do not drain the beans, but if you prefer to drain them, add some additional water - probably another can.
  • Add spices and salt to taste.
  • Simmer on medium-low for 20-30 minutes so flavours will blend.
