Ingredients

  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb pork sausage
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (28 ounce) can whole tomatoes
  • 1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (12 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon oregano leaves
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 8 ounces uncooked spaghetti

Method

  • in 10" skillet cook onions, beef and sausage over medium heat until meat is browned, pour off fat.
  • meanwhile in dutch oven combine remaining ingredients except spaghetti.
  • cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally for 15 minutes.
  • reduce heat to low, add browned meat, cook stirring occasionally until stew is thickened about 20 to 30 minutes.
  • meanwhile cook spaghetti according to package directions.
  • serve stew over spaghetti.
