- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 1/4 c. diced celery
- 1 (14 oz.) bottle catsup
- 2 Tbsp. dry mustard
- 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 can tomato paste
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 8 hamburger buns
Method
- In glass casserole, saute ground beef, onion and celery 6 to 8 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes.
- Drain off drippings.
- Add vinegar, catsup, tomato sauce, mustard, water, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and chili powder; stir to blend.
- Cook, covered, 8 to 10 minutes.
- Heat buns wrapped in terry towel 1 minute.
- Spoon mixture on heated buns.
