Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 1/4 c. diced celery
  • 1 (14 oz.) bottle catsup
  • 2 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 8 hamburger buns

Method

  • In glass casserole, saute ground beef, onion and celery 6 to 8 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes.
  • Drain off drippings.
  • Add vinegar, catsup, tomato sauce, mustard, water, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and chili powder; stir to blend.
  • Cook, covered, 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Heat buns wrapped in terry towel 1 minute.
  • Spoon mixture on heated buns.
