- 1 (4 to 5 lb.) hen or fryer
- 1/2 c. chicken fat
- 1 pod garlic
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. Season-All or seasoned salt
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 c. celery, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 can Italian tomatoes
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 tsp. celery salt
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 c. grated cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
Method
- Simmer hen or fryer with bay leaf, salt and pepper.
- Pull meat off bones (skim off fat).
- Melt fat in skillet; add chopped vegetables and cook until tender.
- Add other seasonings, tomatoes, tomato sauce and chicken and simmer a few minutes.
- Cook spaghetti and drain (I cook it in my broth).
- Put all ingredients in a casserole dish and add enough broth to make moist.
- Sprinkle with cheese and bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until hot.
