Ingredients

  • 1 large fryer
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 c. chicken broth
  • 1 pkg. frozen peas and carrots
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • salt to taste
  • pastry dough

Method

  • Stew chicken with seasonings added.
  • Remove bones and dice chicken.
  • Melt butter in skillet or large Corning Ware casserole dish; stir in flour.
  • Add broth and milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until medium sauce is made.
  • Place chicken and vegetables in casserole.
  • Salt and pepper, if desired, and mix well.
  • Cover with latticed pir crust.
  • Bake at 350° until golden brown and mixture is bubbly.
  • Yields 10 to 12 servings.
